Pricing disclaimers: Consultation fee of $225.00 is a flat fee for non-personal injury cases that is not refundable, and subject to the Dickson Davis Law Firm’s no-call no-show policy. If your consultation is longer than one hour, then you will be billed on an hourly basis of $225.00 per hour for the length of your consultation, which is non-refundable. Personal injury cases are generally done on a contingency fee basis with shared expenses of litigation such as court costs, deposition and transcript fees, and so forth. General civil litigation cases are generally customized per case based on the typical pleadings, motions, hearings, and discovery anticipated for that case. The general fee contract in a hybrid contract for a flat fee and a percentage of client’s recovery above and beyond actual damages with the client responsible for certain costs independently as outlined in the fee contract. Typically, for general civil litigation cases, clients are placed on a monthly payment plan for a flat fee set number of hours allocated to the case. Should the Dickson Davis Law Firm exceed the numbers of hours allocated to the case, then the pricing reverts to the pricing list as outlined in the fee contract. The Dickson Davis Law Firm does offer limited scope of engagement such as limited representation for demand letters, cease and desist notices, and informal or formal settlement negotiations pre-litigation for a flat fee. Please note, the flat fee for these documents does not include hourly billing for all correspondence with the client, opposing party, or document review that is billed once earned and is not refundable. All work earned by the Dickson Davis Law Firm is not refundable as outlined in your fee contract should you retain the Dickson Davis Law Firm. All unearned work by the Dickson Davis Law Firm is refundable as outlined in your fee contract, however, should you incur separate legal expenses in the course of your case from your original fee contract, then those amounts may be deducted from any unearned work. Should the client wish to enlarge the scope of representation, then the Dickson Davis Law Firm will submit a modification of the fee contract for the client to sign that details the enlarged scope of representation. If a case settles at any time, then the client will be responsible for paying all outstanding legal fees at the time of receiving a settlement. If the client receives a jury award, then the client will be responsible for paying all outstanding legal fees at the time of receiving the jury award. Prospective clients are advised to read through the engagement letter and fee contract thoroughly to understand the terms and conditions of legal representation. Clients are responsible for all work performed and earned outside the scope of representation at a rate of $150.00 per hour that is not refundable. Pricing listed on this website may be subject to change, modified, or updated as required per each client as the online fee contract is a demonstration of the terms and conditions for legal representation by the Dickson Davis Law Firm.

*The South Carolina Bar Association is in the process of reviewing a limited scope of engagement for attorneys to ghost write for pro se litigants regarding complaints, motions, or to appear on a limited basis only for hearing, assist in a limited capacity of direct and cross examination of witnesses at trial, and so forth. Once such limited scope of engagement is permitted, the Dickson Davis Law Firm will publish pricing for these services for pro se litigants. Pro se litigants who retain the Dickson Davis Law Firm in a limited capacity will be required to sign an acknowledgment that legal representation only pertains to the scope of work for which the client has retained the Dickson Davis Law Firm, and that ongoing representation is not included unless included in the scope of engagement for legal representation.
